Welcome to the Hutto Heritage Foundation.

The Foundation is a 501c3 non profit organization that was begun in 2005 to provide a mechanism to preserve and protect the history and heritage of the Hutto community in a fund raising and project management capacity.

A 1902 Swedish farmhouse, the Almquist-Johnson house had been offered to the City of Hutto at no cost by Williamson County Commissioner Frankie Limmer. Former Mayor Mike Fowler approached the City of Hutto Council to assist with this project and it was suggested by the then Mayor, Mike Ackerman, that a non profit outreach organization be formed to take on this project. Letters of Support have been provided by Mayor Ackerman and the current Mayor, Ken Love.

The City of Hutto provided initial legal consul and paid for the non profit filing. John Stern, an attorney and graduate of Hutto High School, filed on a pro bono basis all of the 501c3 documentation that was required to establish the Hutto Heritage Foundation.

The founding board of directors of the Hutto Heritage Foundation consists of Mike Fowler, Keith Hickman and Elizabeth Page. Mike Fowler is the current Chair of the Hutto Heritage Foundation as well as the City of Hutto Historical Commission. Keith Hickman, an architect and owner of K A Hickman Architects in Round Rock, is the Vice Chair of the Hutto Heritage Foundation. Elizabeth Page is the President of the Hutto Chamber of Commerce and is the Secretary and CFO for the Hutto Heritage Foundation.

This website is also provided on a pro bono basis through the work of Wayne Ware of Georgetown. Wayne is the WEB Master for the Williamson County Historical Museum website wchm-tx.org and the Georgetown-Texas website georgetown-texas.org and is on the advisory board of the Museum and on the Williamson County Historical Society board.

The work of the project oriented Hutto Heritage Foundation will not be possible without volunteer help and financial assistance from people like you. Join in on preserving and protecting the history and heritage of Hutto.
